Plans for the further processing of meat are set in motion immediately when livestock sales co-operative Itikka moves to Seinäjoki. Itikka builds its first sausage factory in rather modest surroundings.Itikka purchases its first vehicle at the turn of the 1920s.

Lihakunta's first sausage factory operated in the courtyard of the wooden house pictured in 1910. The house was located on the Puijonkatu street in Kuopio. From a financial perspective, it was a significant decision to begin manufacturing sausages as the sausage factory's production accounted for half of the co-operative's net sales in the following year.
